Cross Country Term 2

Image
Cross Country Term 2 Hello, yesterday on Tuesday 23 June we ran our cross country it was quite unlucky because the weather wasn't the nicest. It was still good though I came in third place so I think I'm going to zones. I and my friend I were like right next to each other on the final lap and the course we had been practising was different from the actual thing. So, my friend, he was really unlucky he ran how we had been practising and he had to come all the way back so I got the lead. Otherwise, it was going to come down to a sprint finish. Thanks, Bryn

Batten Team Air Force Museum Visit  Hello on Tuesday the 5 of November some of the batten team went to the air force museum. There were two special people there who are apart of the RNZAF that's the royal New Zealand air force. They told us about themselves one of them had been in the air force since he was 17.  They have been to countries that are having wars to start a peace program. Kate mainly flew a massive plane called the Hercules, Herc for short. She did missions like dropping off supplies in countries that don't have enough supplies. They told us a story about a very brave man called Sargent Ward so they were doing a bombing raid on Germany. On the way back they were attacked by a German aircraft and Sargent Ward planes wing was set on fine and the captain said to him go put that out so he climbed onto the wing he had to dig his feet in to put it out he was successful. All seven people on the aircraft survived because of him he was awarded a victoria cross for his b...

Week 3 Home Learning Mapmakers Race Book Report

Week 3 Home Learning Mapmakers Race Book Report The mapmakers race is a very interesting book about 4 children the Sandanders and a boy named Becket. They are in a race to make it to New Coalhaven first or have the best map for a horse track and then the railway. I would give this book about a 7 out of 10 it was quite good but it just didn’t click for me. I would recommend this book to people who are into books about exploring and danger around the age of  8-13 or even older I hope you can get around to reading it. Thanks Bryn

Online Schooling has been going since Wednesday the 15th and it has been going well every day I do about 3 hours of school work. We did problem-solving maths this morning we had 3 problems they were all quite easy we did them in groups over zoom we are still experimenting with it. We didn't have very much time in our groups but it was still good. Thank you Bryn

Swimming Canterbury's has been postponed to somewhere in October so I don't have to stress about It. Lawn Bowls This week at lawn bowls there were heaps of activities she had set up for us. The first activity I did was when we were trying to knock one of those big tennis balls out of the hula hoop. I knocked it out once it was kind of hard to know how much power to put into the bowl. My favorite activity though was when there was a ramp with a  bunch of holes that had numbers above them the highest being 100 I didn't quite get 100 but I only got fifty points. Next week on Monday we are going to an actual bowls club. St Patricks Day For a fundraiser for Caritas, we all dressed up in green and were told to bring in a gold coin donation. It was really awes...
